Skills acquisition is an important component of EBIFO’s mission to improve the lives of people in rural communities. The organization recognizes that accessto clean water is just one part of the equation, andthat skills training is essential for long-term economicdevelopment.

EBIFO offers training in a variety ofskills, such as agriculture, carpentry, Shoe making,Hair making, (unisex), Make-up and “gele” tying (headgear), Web design, Graphics design, Catering, Eventmanagement and decorations, Cinematography,Bead making, Tailoring, entrepreneurship and lotsmore.

These programs not only provide valuable jobskills, but also increase participants’ self-confidenceand independence. In addition, the skills learnedthrough EBIFO’s programs can be passed on to others inthe community, creating a ripple effect of change.EBIFO uses a multi-pronged approach to carrying outits mission in rural communities.

First, they conductthorough needs assessments to identify the mostpressing issues facing the community. Next, theydevelop a plan of action, and work with local partnersto implement it. This may include buildinginfrastructure, such as water wells or schools, orproviding training and resources for communitymembers.

Finally, they evaluate the effectiveness oftheir programs and make adjustments as needed.Throughout this process, they prioritize communicationand collaboration, and always seek to put thecommunity’s needs first.
